A Star Wars the Old Republic Story
About This Story
This story is set during the early days of the Great Galactic War in The Old Republic era, around 4296 C.R.C., as the newly reemerged Sith Empire begins its conquest in the Tingle Arm region. The story begins on the planet Eliad, a location that would see nearly continuous conflict until the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant in 4324 C.R.C.
Information on this period is scarce; what little is known primarily comes from the Star Wars: The Old Republic game and related lore. Eliad, in particular, is largely unexplored, offering great flexibility and freedom for storytelling.
Method
This story follows the trials and battles of two forgotten and discarded Republic troopers as they fight to survive a galactic war. There is no defined end state to this campaign—no grand, overarching plot. Like real life, it is simply a journey through hardship and conflict.
The story is experienced through the eyes of Column, the main player character. While he is the central figure, I intend to minimize his presence, using him more as a lens than a protagonist. Column speaks little, and I will never narrate his thoughts. We will come to understand him through his actions—and through the impact he has on the world and the people around him.
Mechanics
This campaign is played using Ironsworn-Starforged, a narrative-driven, dice-based RPG written by Shawn Tomkin and published by Tomkin Press. In my opinion, it is the most immersive and compelling narrative RPG system available today for science fiction and fantasy roleplay. Act One – All That is Left
A squad of abandoned Republic troopers come together on Eliad to face off against threats far greater and more deadly than the approaching Imperial Army.
Chapter 1 – The Rear Guard

As Eliad falls under siege, two abandoned troopers fight to defend the spaceport from Imperial saboteurs determined to shatter the city’s final defenses.
Chapter 2 – All That is Left

When a desperate mission to rescue stranded troopers leads Column and Pevio to an unexpected find—a Republic Thunderclap—they’re thrust into a high-stakes hunt for a crashed bioweapon ship. Outnumbered and outgunned, they become the last line of defense against planetary catastrophe.
Chapter 3 – Fire Over Jesart

In the shadow of growing war, a ragtag Republic crew commandeers a stolen ship and dives headlong into hostile territory. Hunted by Imperials, they chase wreckage in the sand—seeking answers and survival amid the chaos of the Outer Rim.
Chapter 4 – Laid to Rest Part 1

A squad of soldiers and specialists investigates a derelict vessel carrying a deadly pathogen. As tensions rise and the crew is picked off one by one, the mission spirals into survival.
Chapter 5 – Laid to Rest Part 2

After surviving brutal combat and hard choices aboard a derelict science vessel, the squad pushes deeper into the wreckage. Exhausted and scarred, they uncover grim truths—and must decide whether to preserve what’s left or burn it all.
Chapter 6 – Unwelcomed Return

After surviving a brutal dogfight above Eliad, Column, Pevio, and Sift regroup, resupply, and repair. Bonds deepen, wounds heal, and their ship is restored, but the war isn’t over. Imperial forces still threaten the planet, and vengeance looms on the horizon.
